Meteorologist

Irene Sans was always focused in mathematics and science from a very early age. She attended Florida State University, where she graduated with a bachelor in Meteorology, minor in mathematics and concentration in Hispanic Marketing Communications.
While in FSU, she was the first bilingual deputy State Meteorologist on board at the Division of Florida Emergency Management – Emergency Operations Center where she would brief state officials about the weather conditions threatening the state. In 2008 she covered closely the wildfires that burnt thousands of acres in Central Florida.

Irene has participated on continuous coverage on important weather events such as Hurricane Isaac and Sandy in 2011.

Besides her degree in meteorology she is also a Certified Broadcast meteorologist, the highest certification available for broadcast scientists by the American Meteorological Society, only given to those who prove excellence in on air delivery and are fully accredited in meteorology from a University.
From 2013 -2014 she was Chief Meteorologist at Telemundo Houston. In the time here she has covered tornados, severe weather, and winter storms. Also participating in Houston’s Comcast Sports Networks and at NBC’s Today’s show.
In April 2013 she also joins Statweather, a leading private weather company in the US, providing long term forecast around the globe. She serves as an International Consultant Meteorologist, providing the products for Hispanic countries.
Irene is also a bilingual meteorologist at a private weather company, Climadata. She covers on air for one of the top newscasts in the Dominican Republic ‘Noticias SIN’ and in both, English and Spanish for Radio Caracol in Miami and the British Virgin Islands, ZBVI Radio, and translates scientific articles for different organizations in the
