The structure of American families has changed dramatically since the 90’s. In the 90’s forty-two percent of children lived in a home with both parents in the first marriage and only six percent lived in a single- never married home. Now fifty-eight percent of children are now in single parent households. This is a very frightening percentage, being that it is apparent how careless people can be, not only with relationships but unprotected sex. Accidents happen not and then but as adults, the consequences are definitely known. Therefore no excuse is acceptable as to why taking care of the child should be an issue. As an adult the first thing one learns how to do is accept responsibility and own up to mistakes made.
