Texting and driving, one minute you are in your lane the next minute you are flipped in a ditch or you ended up colliding with another driver. Texting and driving has been a huge problem ever since the invention of a smart phone. People text, change music, and even use social media all day while driving. Their phones are attached to their eye sockets twenty four seven. “Forty percent of all American teens say they have been in a car when the driver used a cell phone in a way that put people in danger, according to a Pew survey.” The risk of texting and driving is serious you never know what could happen when you look down for 30 seconds or more taking your eyes off the road. It is not like looking to the left at something on the side of the road, it switches all your focus to the phone rather than to the most important thing which is driving safely. Laws have been passed not nationally but, by states and counties to provide a law against texting a driving that results in a ticket of a certain dollar amount depending on the state or county you live in. A solid attempt, but you do not see people keeping their speed below the set speed limit just because it is the law. Everyone is just going to ignore the simple fact that they can get away with it just as easy as speeding down the road. So what can we do to fix this issue? The issue can be solved with a small simple device that inhibits you from using your phone for certain functions like texting, emailing, and gaming apps etc.…
