Weaknesses
One of my primary weaknesses is that I like to take everything on. While I am good at delegating, I do not have a team to delegate to at this point in time. That said, I tend to overestimate the amount of things that I can accomplish in 8 hours, so I end up staying between 50 and 60 hours a week at work. Emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to recognize one 's own emotions as well as those of others, the ability to harness those emotions and apply them to decision making and judgment, as well as the ability to manage one 's own emotions as well as other 's (Goleman, 1995.) This certainly has its place in my management of human resources; I have to be able to set aside my personal emotions, boil down facts, and still remain empathetic and cognizant of other 's emotions at play. Additionally, I am an excellent listener. I have learned the art of active listening, a form of listening that improves mutual understanding in part because the attention is fully on the conversation at hand and improving understanding (Conflict Research Consortium, 1998.) Beyond this, my degrees and understanding of human psychology, management, and human resources are indeed a strength of mine. I have found that my education allows for deeper insight into the human experience as it pertains to business, as well as my proclivity for researching that which I do not know. On that same note, I have found that my research skills are quite a bit more pronounced with the closing of my Master 's degree. I am far more prone to admitting that I do not have all the answers, and further looking into the correct, research backed answers as they pertain to Human Resources and business especially. Another strength of mine is my dedication to my personal and company core
