It may not directly affect people from other countries, but it plays its role in the way of how the world is today. America is viewed by most as the strongest and most civilized country on the planet. People from poorer and underdeveloped nations look at the United States as heaven. They get the false sense of reality that all Americans are happy and have lots of money. The United States benefits from being praised all around the world. It just reassures that the U.S. is superior to others. This image is shattered when people from other countries learn about the high gun violence in America. Smaller nations look up to the United States and their barbaric, savage, and uncivilized ways are justified when their hero faces the same issues that they do. The United States can’t be respected and viewed as a world class nation with all of this irresponsible gun usage that is going on. The improper gun usage is carried out by common U.S. citizens and police officers whose job is to protect the people. The simple fact that criminals make a living out of breaking the law proves that they don’t have any respect for the law at all. Gun laws won’t stop them from getting their hands on firearms and using them. They will find a way to steal and lie their way into getting them. If only criminals owned guns, then law-abiding civilians wouldn’t be able to protect themselves. It would be ideal and the country would be closer to being a utopia, but the dream of no guns at all is somewhat delusional thinking. Things wouldn’t go that smoothly and more problems would occur. Conclusively speaking, I’ve come to the conclusion that stricter gun control laws are the way to go. You can’t go from one extreme like high gun violence to another extreme like no guns at all. Some American citizens really love and cherish their guns, so we shouldn’t penalize them for the harm done by the irresponsible. Stricter gun laws are necessary and should put an end to guns getting in the wrong hands. The goal is to stop gun violence like mass shootings. It can be done without taking away guns
