The purpose of continuously improving my own performance at work is to achieve personal goals which increase self-motivation and could lead to possible promotion which would in turn increase income, status and again self-motivation. It is a constant cycle to push your career is high as it can possibly go.

As I learn my skill set becomes broader and helps to me to further my career in this organisation or a new one. These benefit the current organisation because it increases my efficiency and in turn the efficiency of the team. And I can apply to higher job to further progress.
1.6 Compare possible career progression routes.
I will look to stay at the GLA in the Housing Directorate to broaden my skill set and knowledge here as the training and learning curve here is very good. I think this is the best stepping stone for any job in housing across London because everyone works with GLA and knows they work to high standard and so would be an advantage going for new jobs.
