That 's how people don’t just perceive themselves, but also how they perceive others around them especially the people that they work with. In this diverse environment, diversity is seen as a positive and negative aspect. The negative aspect that many people are not aware of is that most jobs in America, that are higher class jobs are mostly inherited, and dismollages the concept of the American Dream, that many people tend to believe. Regarding the famous phrase I have even heard since I was just a little kid, “You can be whoever you want to be, as long as you put your mind to it.” As a little kid you think everyone is equal, you don’t really think about that you live in a trailer park, that it is considered as “low class”. With all the four major diversity classifications; class, race, gender, and also age. These are important for big companies and especially new companies that want their business to grow and be successful. Having a different background on your upbringing or race can show the business how outsiders are going to take the new company such as having a new line of clothing being sold. Coming together from different backgrounds, people can explain if something is too expensive for the “lower class” because most companies goals is to sell as much as they can to get a nice profit off of the end product. With the idea of a new clothing business, they also have to consider race and age, such as what is appropriate with deep V-necks and how short some of their clothing would be. Those two can be tricky when starting a new clothing line business. Such as an example, that Orthodox Jewish women have to wear skirts that MUST be extended past their knees and shirts have to be extended past their elbows. (Jewish Clothing for Women -Described). Also with age because what is appropriate for a 13 year old girl is not the same as what is appropriate for a 20 year old. In the Jewish Orthodox the only time you have to wear the wig piece on the head is when you are married. With different diversities in the new company it would be easier to establish appropriateness for all the consumers the company is striving to direct to.
