I always thought that diversity refers to the differences in cultures, traditions and languages within a multicultural society. The book refers to diversity as “all the ways in which people are different” (Bucher, 2015, p. 2). Through this course I have learned that diversity could be also within a society with people of the same nationality. My perceptions of diversity has changed a lot during this course because now I know that diversity also refers to social class, gender, sexual orientation, race, language and abilities.…

According to Fernando (2010) culture is a set of presumptions, values, ideas, expectations, meanings, norms and practices which have been transmitted and acquired throughout generations. Moreover, culture can be identified according to age (adolescent culture), backgrounds (studies, nationalities, language) and practice (nursing, clinician culture). Besides, Marzilli (2014) implies that “culture depends on the setting and the perspective of the person defining it”.…

Nurses usually give fair treatments to all people as long as they are called patient and needs help.
