Diversity is so much more than just the surface qualities of race or gender. It circumscribes all qualities that make us unique as an individual, it allows us as individuals to accept , respect, and comprehend those people who possess unique qualities. Diversity also allows people to bring in fresh ideas and perceptions, in which the need and use of diversity can actually benefit the society and us as individuals by making us “educated”.
In today's community, the view diversity is viewed to be a virtuous idea because it gives people the chance to experience different viewpoint that those they were originally accustomed to. Diversity should be openly viewed as favorable. To me the meaning of diversity, beside the obvious definition of people gathering from different ethnicity, nationalities, and religions, is the ability for people, mainly college student and under, being able to learn and acquire experience from people who have different opinions and experience from yours.For some students being in a “diverse” school or college can prepare them for the real world, where they can freely allow their voice their opinion from an informed point of view, and hear …show more content…
As a human being I will try my best to help UT Dallas a more diverse university through all means possible using as many ideas i feel are appropriate or offering any qualities that can make me diverse (such as academics, extracurricular, knowledge, and personal history). I can make Ut dallas a more diverse university by offering or providing any new viewpoints, sharing my experience, offering or showing my leadership skills,showing off my different personality, and offering any past knowledge i picked up along my life to help change UT dallas avoid being a homologous group,and change the university to be a heterogeneous university dues to my different background and my various
