Trust is the foundation to any relationship. Trust is built not born in any relationship. If you cannot trust the person(s) that are raising you and teaching you how to assimilate into this fast moving society then it would become hard to trust anyone in your life especially someone new. If a child witnesses a divorce due to a cheating parent it would be hard for that child to trust their own relationships as they grow older whether it be romantic or not. Not being able to have good relationships with people would then effect a person’s ability to succeed socially and economically through employment and personally. If a child or teen grows up seeing heavy alcohol or drug use they become accustomed to it and do not see it as wrong. The likelihood of a child wanting to try these substances increases. Along with that comes the chances of alcoholism and addiction. With that being said the actions of an abusive father or mother will affect the child more than most would think. In most cases Peer pressure and an addictive personality is the start of addiction in most teens, drugs and alcohol both. Most will see it being done with no harm but not know the long term effects. Teens from addictive parents could possibly be passed down the trait of an addictive personality. So when a teen with a possible addictive gene tries something for the first time he or she may want to continue to do whatever the drug may
