It is sad to witness first hands at times of how a patient will be treated after shift change report based off who is providing the care for them during that shift. I have quickly learned depending on which provider is on during my shift; my communication to the provider will vary depending on the provider’s preference. Hi Maureen, sorry for the delay in responding to your e-mail, but yes, I talked with Ellen the majority of her complaints was related to the treatment her brother is receiving in the nursing home. After our long discussion, she communicated to me that she talked with Marylyn the nursing home charge nurse who expressed they would deal with the issue. I have sent the social worker to follow-up with the patient’s complaints. I have sent the Merline, RN the primary nurse to also follow-up and educate Mr. Rosin on some of his concerns and the intervention we would put in place.
