It is therefore essential in Health and Social Care setting diversity considers and implements different individual’s belief and religion without offending others. According to the Care Act 2014, individual’s views, wishes, feelings and beliefs must be respected as much as any other normal individual regardless of his condition, that way equality would have been taken into account. In Allan’s case he was just given what other residents are having, he was meant to be given the rights of choice in what he wanted, this would have promoted dignity for him and prevented him felling very unimportant and undervalued. When observing the Equalities Act 2010, this incompetency created negativity in Alan’s mind leading into him disagreeing with what the nurses did, although he was unable to put his thoughts together. More over Alan was deprived of his freedom. That resulted in him being confined, to a situation which kept him away to the rest of the world. This barrier could have been prevented if Alan was cared for in accordance with (Safe guarding policy) which prevents venerable adult from abuse and neglect. In this case study it appears to have been, lack of reflection on action and reflection in action about Allen’s background, example is: “not taking into consideration that Alan was once a distinguished figure in the society”. He still expected to be given the dignity that he had, regardless of his failing memory .All this incompetence created negative behaviour from Alan towards the staff and hence triggered communication breakdown. Beside all these factors which frustrated Alan, it is evident that he was not considered as a different individual, as it is supposed to be. It is very important to look in depth into everyone’s circumstances as an individual. So that every special need of each and every one can be met, and care delivered
