The Bridge to My Medical Career
When we were growing up, people would always ask what we wanted to be when we grew up. I remember when I was three, my mom asked me what I wanted to be when I got older, and I told her I wanted to be a pediatrician. As I grew older, I watched my dad and grandfather make a career out of being in the military. I wanted to be just like them so I decided to join. The Navy is not a career I saw myself in, so I decided to get out and pursue a career in the medical field. As I learn more and more about the medical field, my passion has become more specific on being a nurse. Starting off as a Medical Assistant will allow me to understand the nursing field better. Since I have some experience in the medical field, going on to further my education as a Registered Nurse and having the knowledge before I start the program will make me more confident. Medical Assistant Medical Assistant has never been a dream job for me, however, I enjoy helping others and believe this a great foundation to start my medical career. Medical Assistants’ work primarily in doctors’ offices and clinics, but you may find some throughout hospitals in some states. Being a medical assistant, a certified caregiver, you must work under the supervision of a licensed nurse such as an RN or a physician. Being a Medical Assistant, you can assist in clerical duties or hands-on work alongside Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, or Physician Assistants.
