that premiered in 2006, May 19 featuring celebrity socialite Paris Hilton. The 30 second commercial featured Paris Hilton flexibly washing a Bentley with soapy water and then moves to her seductively eating a Spicy BBQ Burger on the hood of the car, all while wearing a very revealing swim suit. The actual burger is shown in about one clip for about five seconds. At the end of the commercial when she takes a bite out of the sandwich, it is almost as if she does it in a sexual way. The first thing I notice is that there is some slowly sensual music building up what sounds like a horn or trumpet. The music definitely tries to create an arousing mood which sounds like some type of playboy penthouse pornographic music. For a brief second you hear Paris Hilton make a sexual moan in background as she drops her fur coat to reveal her skimpy bikini outfit. Next I notice during excerpts of the commercial Paris Hilton is seen in slow-motion as she flips her hair into the air multiple times. I believe they use this effect to have us stay focused on her body (otherwise the commercial). Various angles of Paris body are seen on top of the luxurious Bentley. We are show shots of just Paris long legs in heels waving them up and down in the air on the Bentley hood of the car. Additionally we see her at one point getting off her knees with just her butt in the air and all we can see is the back of her. Toward the end of the commercial Paris has a water hose and sprays it at the camera which…

battle was ignited by the sudden abduction of Queen Helen of Sparta by Prince Paris of Troy. Helen and Paris were star-crossed lovers, in which, nobody could separate them. You could compare them to the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet, where the Montagues and Capulets fought, again, sparked by the love of two young lovers. Back in mythological times, Zeus, the father of the gods and god of the sky and thunder, held a celebration after the recent marriage of Peleus and Themis. Every Greek god…

because it is calling for the unification of the American people to aid in the protection of the United States. Equivalently, another example of when artistry brought people together is during the Martin Luther King Jr. speech. The speech is extremely notorious in the fight for equality. This speech was held at a peaceful demonstration at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. in 1963. From the very beginning stages of this essay, it has continuously evolved, taken shape, and progressed. Initially, I could understand how one would believe that Thucydides did not have a preferred method of government between Aristocracy and Democracy. I believed that human nature lied somewhere in between Athens and Sparta, and they were the two inhumane extremes of human nature. But after careful consideration of the entirety of the History of the Peloponnesian War, I have found quotations to…

    War Culture In The Iliad

    • 1505 Words

The Iliad by Homer depicts a destructive war between the Achaeans and the Trojans as a criticism to the collective social norms and tradition that war promotes. Throughout the epic, the idea of war is championed by the both the Achaeans and the Trojan as the most formidable form of solving their dispute. However, this form of problem solving involves a social-Darwinian scenario where the strongest survive, while those who survive the war receive honor and praise from their people. Nevertheless,…
