Harrison takes off all his handicaps and choses a dancer to become his empress. Then Diana Moon Glampers arrives at the scene and shoots Harrison, while his parent are watching tv. Due to the father’s superior intelligence to others, he has a noise blasted from his ear handicap, and both parents forget what they just watched. Another difference between the stories is the fact that the main character Harrison is alone and tries to overthrow the government while Icarus journeys with his father. Some similarities between the stories are both stories have a young boy as the main character who dies after not following the rules. These stories also have a similar plot: both characters are trapped in prison and escape, when they don't follow the rules they are killed. This is how both stories plots are the same and different. The characters of both stories share similarities as well as differences. The characters of Ovid’s “Metamorphoses” are: Icarus, the father, and the common people. In Harrison Bergeron the characters are: Harrison, Hazel, George, and Diana Moon Glampers.
