I want to be an expert on surviving a Zombie apocalypse. In movies, Zombies are typically portrayed as walking corpses who feed on human beings. They are created from an epidemic and infectious bite. Global pandemics such as this will create pandemonium and fear all over the world, collapsing modern society and typical human behavior. Zombies are widely considered fictional, but with the evolution of biological weapons, disease, or even divine punishment, it is not completely farfetched an event like this can transpire. To survive a zombie apocalypse you will need to know the type of Zombie that you will be encountering, the communication of infection, and survival tactics in the wake of a rapidly degrading society. Other films such as “28 Days Later”, “Resident Evil”, and literature as in “The Rising” depict Zombies that are smarter and faster than the Romero Zombie (Boyle, 2002) (Anderson, 2002) (Keene, 2003). For this particular apocalypse the slow moving Romero Zombie will be used as an example.

There is currently no virus on this planet that can cause a human being to turn into a zombie. However, there are various countries that bio-engineer viruses, bacteria, as well as parasites that may soon have the capability to produce such an illness. With the advancement in technology, labs on a space shuttle experimenting in zero gravity space, or even the advancement in synthetic biology it must be feasible a virus like this can be produced (Tucker, 2006). If you are a religious person you have to at least succumb to the idea of Divine punishment. Most religious texts have at least one account when their deity delivered a deadly plague upon mankind. “The Ten Plagues of Egypt” were ten disasters delivered to Man, which is referenced in the Bible, Quran, and Torah (Tyndale House Foundation, 2007) (al-attique, 2011). For a full fledged Zombie apocalypse, a biological weapon would likely lead to the beginning of the pandemic
