Why Is Late Term Abortion Wrong

Improved Essays
Late Term Abortion Abortion is a vast topic of controversy. My standpoint is that all forms of abortion are wrong and unethical. Late term abortion is one of the most heartless operations done of them all. Not only is the baby denied the very opportunity to live, but the operation itself is cruel and immoral. There are many different views on when a fetus actually becomes human. Is it really our place to decide? Even some abortionists use the term “baby” which makes what they are doing even worse; they admit it. From day one, the one cell of 46 chromosomes contains every detail of what the baby will look like to their gender and eye color. By the second month, organs are forming as well as fingers and toes and so on. In month three, brain function is beginning. A nonliving thing does not have organs. A nonliving thing does not have a beating heart. In some areas, it is legal to abort a child as late as 26 weeks. …show more content…
Not only does abortion leave a baby dead, but by week 8, he or she can feel both psychological and real pain. Just consider this; why would a baby be given anesthesia during fetal surgery if they weren’t able to feel pain? There are two common ways that a late term abortion is performed.. Induction abortion and Dilation and Extraction. Induction is a fatal injection. Dilation and Extraction is done by ripping the body parts apart. The head is then crushed and sucked out of the woman’s body. There are evident signs that babies feel pain while this is being done. They react the same way as a born baby would. However, they cannot cry out for help; the baby is completely

Do you believe in killing innocent babies? Most people believe that it is morally wrong; if men and women want to have unprotected sex then they should be held responsible. On the other hand people believe that women should have the right to choose because they could be a victim of incest and some young ladies are too young to bear children. The dilation and extraction procedure, also known as the D&X procedure, is the surgical method used to perform late-term abortions. Two days before a D&X procedure is performed, laminaria is inserted vaginally to dilate the cervix. On the third day of dilation the woman's water should then break and she would then return to the ER to complete the procedure. As simple as this may sound the D&X procedure has an enormous amount of risks to it. Some of the minor side effects of the D&X procedure include but are not limited to, "damage to uterine lining...cervix, perforation... of uterus, infection, and blood clots" ("Surgical Abortion Procedures...").…

The controversy that happens are based on three different opinions there are the pro-life people who believe that the baby should have a choice in what happens to him or her. Also, there is lean way in what they believe in such as if the woman was raped, in danger of her own life, or that the baby was at risk. Then there are the pro-choice people who believe that the mother should have complete say in what happens to the fetus. Pro-choice These people have lots of reasons to believe that late-term abortion should be legal. One of the main reasons for pro-choice is that woman should have full say in their bodies.…

Not only will the fetus feel pain after a first trimester abortion, but at 25 weeks the fetus is considered viable (Candisky, 2015). When a fetus is considered feasible it is said to say that when the child is born there is a high percentage of the infant being able to survive (Candisky, 2015). This shows that late-term abortion is considered wrong, under them having the right to life, because you shouldn’t be able to abort an unborn child with such a high percentage of them…

Abortion isn’t murder until at least 24 weeks after conception/fertilization. This is where most people are confused. It 's easy to argue that a baby is a baby but yet at the same time scientifically a human isn 't considered a human until at least 20 weeks. From conception until 24 weeks it 's just considered a sac of cells and given the name “fetus” which normally we refer that name to an unborn baby.…

A person who commits such murder is deemed cold and hence has no soul left in him (Norris, et.al.,2011). In some instances, a doctor injects some concentrated saline fluid into the amniotic fluid which works by poisoning the foetus. Within the next day, the mother gives birth to a dead baby. In some instances, the foetus is crashed within the uterus, and the pieces are forced out of the womb through sanctioning which is often very painful for the mother (Pruss, 2011). If abortion is not well procured, it can lead to permanent infertility which can also affect the marital life of the girl in the…

I trust premature birth isn't right while submitting it for a narrow-minded reason. There are numerous more secure arrangements, having a fetus removal can hurt the mother, and having a premature birth is killing a kid. Before I state my reasons why abortion is wrong, let me just say that one very common reason why women get an abortion is that they are not financially stable. One motivation behind why abortion isn't right is on the grounds that there are…

This suggests that the fetus can feel pain (Miller, 2016). The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists investigated and concluded that the fetus could not feel pain until 27 weeks (Miller, 2016). The argument whether the fetus is a person that can feel pain or not is still in question for many. Therefore, the fetus should be given the benefit of the doubt. Women must realize that the consequences of abortion may be avoided by taking the proper measures to…

“Fetuses do not have rights, pregnant women do” Ari Armstrong. One can say that the controversies about the rights of a fetus are amongst believers and non-believers. Believers of God state that He does everything for a reason and that the second a fetus is conceived then it has a right to life. Whereas non-believers think otherwise, they view the world in a scientific perspective and take into consideration the stages/periods of a fetus as well as the pregnant women herself. There are exactly three periods in the prenatal development: the germinal period, the embryonic period, and the fetal period.…

There is not one single person on earth who can say that they have never been physically hurt before. Babies still in the womb also share in this aspect of human life, even as early as a few months before they are born. When fetuses twenty weeks and older are given surgery while still in the womb, they are given medicine to numb the pain (Johnson). Physicians have studied these fetuses reacting to painful stimuli, so anesthesia is administered before surgery (Johnson). Abortion, of course, is something that would involve extreme pain for the child in the womb.…

The human fetus must be developed enough so it can be murdered. By only eight weeks in the mother's womb, all major organs are functioning in a baby. The brain is working and the nervous system is working which means that by this time, babies can feel pain and respond to it. Babies will suck their thumbs, they are able to respond to sound and there is evidence that babies have dreams. They have a finger print by this time and we are able to see them smile at us through ultasound.…
