Night Time Students

The problem that commuter and night time students are facing today is that not everyone is offered the same beneficial services that a full time and on campus student would have access to.Weatherford College 's office/bookstore hours are currently from 7:45 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. making it very difficult to acquire assistance for full time working and night students. Most working students work between 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and most night students are in class between 6:00 P.M. to 9:15 P.M. Students also only have limited hours to the Jim Wright Library on Monday-Thursday 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Friday-Saturday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and closed on sundays. Lastly, students only have accessibility to the Research and Writing Center from Monday …show more content…
Also by employing campus students it will provide them with a more adjustable work schedule. This can help the campus with affordable wages by paying students by the hour. It has been stated that students that are [e]mployed by their school are more likely to persist and gain a college degree and skill set than students who don 't work at all. (Federal Student Aid) Having later hours will allow students that are not on campus during business hours to get full benefits of daytime services. With having the later hours it could open more opportunities for future students who might think they don 't have time for school. The Research and Writing Center is a tremendous help for most students and by extending services hours, students will become stronger writers or at least receive more guidance so they can be more successful. Not only would it benefit for the Research and Writing Center hours to be extended but, The Academic Support Center is a phenomenal essential as well because tutoring for general studies are provided. This resource now provides study material and programs for anyone who is preparing for test assessments such as the TSI or others. Another neat fact is that The Academic Support Center has 20 workshops available which helps them develop skills and knowledge. The benefits of extending tutoring hours become very rewarding because students will meet their academic goals and expectations in order to achieve success.

Weatherford college can have later campus hours in all departments by expanded their work study program. By offering more work study program jobs campus resources will benefit all students attending and help more students in poor financial situations. Also the school will have more affordable wages, saving the school more in the long run. For both Weatherford College and all types of students, extended hours for campus resources is the best solution in ensuring the highest possible collegiate
