Not only is it important in schools, but it also helps children with test scores. Research from the Washington Post states that “there was a 20 percent increase in math scores by students using iPads over one year. Whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere; and in order for our students to survive in post-secondary education and the business world, they must know technology” (Washington Post 1). This quote reveals that children that have been using technology for years have been getting better grades in math and better understanding concepts on their own. Being that 64 percent of college students said that once they started using electronics in school, they have been able to study more efficiently. (“Use of Technology”). Electronics and different types of devices are a vast part of everyday life, and the people who understand it are the ones who succeed in the future. Programs address real challenges for teachers and students to help schools navigate cyber bullying, internet safety, and other digital situations. Learning how to be caring and responsible while on the internet is essential for children and even adults to learn. The Harvard Graduate School of Education states that “the Good Play Project is focused on the ways young people think about, and manage, moral and ethical issues as they interact with new media, including online social networks, blogs, games, and content sharing sites” (John Abele 1).
