One man Nick Swinmurn, dreamed of purchasing the perfect shoe which led to the creation of Zappos. A company driven to provide satisfaction to its customers and employees through outstanding customer service. Zappos not only strives to provide the best customer service, but has established its ten core values upon which all decisions are made. Zappos credits its success to having outstanding leadership, organization, teamwork, empowered employees, and managers. Zappos accomplishments are due to the fact that all decision focus on long term decisions. Within a team at Zappos, five individuals could be doing five different things. Team work to Zappos is about those five individuals coming together to share ideas and information. All team members work under the knowledge, “when making a decision, it is important to handle it properly so that the values of Zappos is always reflected.” (Go to Bing) Zappos team member achieve success by using organizational activities such as, “attracting people to the organization, grouping people into the right positions, and most importantly creating conditions so that people and things work together to achieve maximum success,” customer satisfaction. The leadership style is successful at Zappos because, of lack of micromanaging. Team leaders or managers in charge of a project, puts all the information pertaining to the project out to the teams. Every team member establishes the goals they need to complete in order to reach the end goal. Leadership is offered in ways of support and encouragement when needed.
