Sometimes though the service can be a little bad because the waiters don’t know which…
Take Action Social networks are one of the most important mass media nowadays; they facilitate communications, spread news faster, and help in cases like a missing person. Facebook is one of the most important networks; this network it is helping people to maintain contact with their loved ones, and to show support and appreciation to others by liking or sharing their pictures or comments. But how much “likes” or “sharing” a picture can help? CRS (Crisis Relief Singapore) launched a campaign called “linking isn’t helping,” this campaign provides powerful images and messages. The picture for this rhetorical analysis consist in a black and white image, where the audience can observe a young girl struggling in the middle of a flood, surrounded by a numerous amount of thumbs up.…
Each time she had done that to myself and other coworkers, we would resent her and was irritable the entire shift. Sara should have followed the “best communication” that was brought up in lecture which is the “high say-high do” (Trapido, 2016) method. By communicating with her employees on the reason she could not bring in the groceries or check inventory herself, we would have been more understanding and could have reacted more positively to doing her…
These days, most people choose to go out to eat at a restaurant instead of cooking a meal at home. It is the same routine everywhere – a server greets you, takes your order and serves the food to you and when you are all done eating, you tip your server based on the service they provided. But have you ever wondered do these servers actually enjoy their job? It is pretty much required for them to pretend like it is the best job in the world even if they think otherwise. Their positive attitudes is one of the ways they make money.…
Philippa Foot in her text “Morality as a System of Hypothetical Imperatives” argues against the claim that moral judgments cannot be hypothetical imperatives, first presented by the philosopher Immanuel Kant. As found in her introduction on page 68-69 of the textbook, her argument is that moral judgments are categorical rather than hypothetical. But before one can explain her argument one must define and explain what hypothetical and categorical imperatives are. Kant himself wrote all imperatives command either hypothetically or categorically. He says that hypothetical imperatives “present the practical necessity of a possible action as a means to achieving something else which one desires.”…
Essay Analysis Tipping has become a daily routine of most people living in America. The essay, “The Case Against Tipping,” by Michael Lewis expresses the idea that tipping is becoming too common and too overused in simple businesses like coffeeshops. Lewis is frustrated with how tipping is now everywhere, and people feel very obligated to tip for thought of being embarrassed or experiencing an awkward situation.…
Tipless I decided to write about tipping for this essay because I have been a waitress for over two years and it is really irritating when people do not tip. It was easy for me to think of things to write about since I have had so many experiences with it. I made the title “Tipless” because the essay is about not having any tips. I incorporated examples of my own experiences with tipping as well as others’ in order to get a wide variety of stories. I also added in how tipping originated and who surveys showed was most likely to tip to give the readers more background information.…
I am a server and I totally get why most waiters/waitress get mad when they don’t get tipped. Some people just don’t get the point of tipping their server. Some days are slow, and some days are extremely busy as a waiter or waitress. It is more than just taking someone’s order and bringing it to them. It never seems to fail that there will be that one group of people that doesn’t leave a tip no matter how hard the waitress works.…
Retail Store Evaluation What makes a store a “great” store? Typically, customers base their judgment of how good a store is upon its environment, it’s workers, and of course its quality of products corresponding to the price. Rue 21 is a young women and men’s retail store that offers a variety of clothing and accessories at a discounted price. It has numerous locations, but a popular site is in one of Kansas’ shopping malls, Towne East Square Mall, located in Wichita.…
As someone who makes his living on mostly tips it might sound obvious that I don’t want the tipping system banned, but there are a lot of people out there that think it should be. People argue that tipping is unreliable and unpredictable and that an hourly fixed rate would be better for servers. The truth is that tipping is not as unpredictable as people think and is actually much better for servers than a fixed hourly rate As a delivery driver, I have noticed a pretty big difference between the quality of my service and how much people tip. If I get there early people normally give me a better tip, and if I’m really late, I’ll get a smaller tip or no tip at all. The same thing happens with waiters and waitresses in restaurants, better service…
Serving in a restaurant, or any type of food chain isn’t easy. Some people know what it’s like, many others don’t. I want to explain to you the ways to becoming a good ‘sever’, in other words, so you know what it’s like. This will also be helpful to anyone who wants to know how to become a good server. If you are a one yourself, you know the in’s and out’s of it all.…
Common restaurant problems include a food error, either by the kitchen or the server, or long ticket times. It is my job to accommodate for each issue and make the guest happy. This has taught me to be patient and understanding with other people and work under stressful situations. Multitasking is your best friend as a server. Each server has several tables at a time and it is their job to prioritize and strategize to give the most efficient service.…
Many companies no longer spend money to give customer service training to employees and instead hire employees with little to no customer service experience which results in negative consequences. Companies give employees a written script and employees are left to learn skills and knowledge through trial and error. This has wreaked havoc on the customer service industry. Bad customer service is the failure to respond to customer inquiries and complaints about products or services. To combat these bad practices, learn how to get the customer service you deserve.…
We have all experienced our fair share of pleasant and unpleasant shopping experiences. Most of these memories from these experiences fade over time. However, some of these experiences are so phenomenal or extraordinary they have a lasting impression on us. On the other hand some of them are so unpleasant or foul that they leave us with a bad image of a once favorite store. I can recall one shopping experience that was horrendous.…
Customer satisfaction “A statistic says people will share a positive experience with an average of five people and will share a bad experience with an average of nine people.” Many of us have told our friends and love ones about places to try and why to try them and told even more people places to avoid because we do not want them to experience what we have. The employee and customer interaction determines if a customer will return and if they return if they are going to bring more people or spend more money. This is why customer service is very important. There are several reasons why I support good customer services.…
