The Importance Of Tipping A Server

I am a server and I totally get why most waiters/waitress get mad when they don’t get tipped.Some people just don’t get the point of tipping their server. Some days are slow, and some days are extremely busy as a waiter or waitress. It is more than just taking someone’s order and bringing it to them. It never seems to fail that there will be that one group of people that doesn’t leave a tip no matter how hard the waitress works. Some people might say that “Well maybe she just didn’t do enough, why should i tip?” In the restaurant industry waiters and waitress get either a outstanding tip for their services, some get stiffed,A term used by servers meaning their table didn’t leave a tip; which is why a ten percent tip should be mandatory in all sit-down restaurants. …show more content…
When working as a server where I work we make half of what the minimum wage is;which, is $5.45 an hour. Getting paid that amount of money an hour doesn't amount to much.their checks are obviously smaller than the others working in the restaurant. Most of the money that a server makes goes to taxes, and they are left with barely anything. For a server their tips account for the majority of their income. A server might have a lot of tables in one day, but to not tip a server because that person may think they made a certain amount of money that night isn’t really fair to them.
