These days, most people choose to go out to eat at a restaurant instead of cooking a meal at home. It is the same routine everywhere – a server greets you, takes your order and serves the food to you and when you are all done eating, you tip your server based on the service they provided. But have you ever wondered do these servers actually enjoy their job? It is pretty much required for them to pretend like it is the best job in the world even if they think otherwise. Their positive attitudes is one of the ways they make money. I decided to do my project on if servers truly enjoy their job. I am actually a server myself at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. I work with many servers there. I chose twenty servers from Cracker Barrel to take my survey I created to see what the …show more content…
It was really important to ask the right questions when creating the survey for this project. I did not want to have my results come out incorrectly due to asking the wrong questions. It is obvious that most young people enjoy serving because they are able to make over minimum wage, compared to working at a job that only pays $7.25 an hour. Servers make around $11 an hour on average. Young people are figuring out their lives, so they have not yet to start a career that would pay much more. Older adults appreciate serving for almost the same reasons. Maybe they never went to college and they are not able to get a high paying job because their lack of a degree. With that being said, there are also reasons servers can hate their job. The people that they are actually serving can treat their server pretty terribly sometimes. For example, some people have this theory that just because a server is serving them, that automatically means they are better than them. That is not the case. Servers are hardworking people that are required to please people each and every shift if they want to make
