One thing that I immediately realized from Marc is that youth ministry is to be commanded with respect and dignity. Marc is a fifty-year-old youth pastor with no aspirations to become a head pastor. The two men who led this study, Sam Brown and Danny Brugmann, spent countless hours preparing, and the discussions that were had about Luke 12-14 were extremely fruitful and informative. This showed me the power of good preparation, and it showed me that people who were not pursuing a theological degree could adequately teach and explain the Bible. These men all came to the meeting with the intent of delving into scripture, and when we all sat down to discus God 's word, all came together and stood for Christ in the midst of a secular world.
