The scripture passage in which I have chosen comes from the book of Timothy. The passage is 2 Timothy 1:7. The passage tells us that God did not make us be timid with our faith, but to go out a practice self-discipline and love. My service experience started out with me not wanting to do it and jus stay at home. It was a Friday and I did not want to help with my sister’s eight- grade confirmation retreat. Paul’s Letter to the Galatians plays a pivotal role in shaping theological understanding as we know it. It has provoked us to rethink about our relationship with God, and to reconsider who really is this God we serve? In this case, Galatians holds such great reverence among Christians in answering these overarching questions, because of Paul’s skillful ability to challenge authority and condemn the Galatians for following under “the desires of the flesh,” rather than living by “the Spirit” (5.16). In order for us to understand the significance of Galatians and its role in shaping our interpretation of these questions, we must first cultivate a deeper understanding of the context behind Paul’s letter within the interest of the contemporary reader.…

Though there are many themes throughout this book, chapter 15 zooms in on one main topic: the resurrection. The church’s beliefs had started to become infused with the culture’s beliefs and they had begun to doubt the truth of the Resurrection. In this chapter, Paul tries to combat this, simultaneously answering several worldview questions.…

I am truly honored as being a nominee for the Easton Chapter National Honor Society. The standards that must be proven to be nominated by this prestigious society are an example of the hard work and dedication I have exemplified in school. Throughout my years of schooling, I have tried my hardest to get good grades, while also demonstrating the characteristics that make up the National Honor Society; they are leadership, service, and character. While I have exhibited all three throughout my educational career, I feel that my service characteristic stands out above the rest. Faith in Action Paper I spent my 15 faith service hours volunteering for Feed My Starving Children and I helped the maintenance crew around the school. While I did this I made new friends and grew as a person as well as in my faith. I probably spent about 8 or more of my service hours volunteering for Feed My Starving Children. Before when I was younger, I would go in because my older sister needed service hours and scoop some veggies and powder into a funnel for an hour and a half. Then after the session my sister would have me walk up to the counter and ask for a slip of paper with the service hours on it, so she give them to her school’s counselor and get the hours out of the way faster.…

My mission group and I work woke up one morning to a beautiful sunrise, and magnificent weather. Despite the fact we had to get up at five in the morning, I was eager to see what the day entailed.…
