There are several ways advertisers can catch ones attention and earn their money. Some of the techniques are subtle while others are obvious. Advertisers use pictures, celebrity endorsements, and promises of what their product can do for the consumer to improve their lives. Advertisers use many different techniques in their campaign to make the consumer feel compelled to purchase their products. Persuasion in many different forms is a powerful technique used in selling products to consumers. Whether it be humor, sex appeal, wealth, or just common sense, an advertisement can cause many people to feel the need to purchase products in order to improve their lives. Poo-Pourri is a product used in the restroom.

The advertisement persuades people that they should purchase the product because it just makes sense. The product can be used by anyone who uses the restroom. The product will keep the bathroom smelling fresh like flowers. The manufacturers of Poo-Pourri has a clean and simple advertisement because they believe the product is something everyone could use and that everyone needs. They believe the product will sell itself due to the fact that it has been tested and proven to work. The advertisement also uses the ethos appeal by using essential oils. The product uses are all natural, there are no chemicals which could be harmful. Essential oils are a well-known product and are being used in households around the country for many different things. Essential oils can be used to help heal sickness, one can make cleaning products with the oils and they are all natural. The advertiser also uses humor in attempting to sell their product. The first time one sees the advertisement they may question if the product is real. The name of the product alone, Poo-Pourri, can make a person laugh.
