Momager-someone who supports and finds auditions for various things.
I call my mom a momager because she is always looking for auditions and programs. One day my mom sent out a video of me singing to the Nora Brennan casting company. They asked me to come audition for Matilda’s open call. I was too tall to audition for the role of Matilda. You had to be 4’ 3” at the tallest. I was already 4’ 5”, so I auditioned for Matilda’s ensemble.
In an open call anyone can audition with any song. There were 3 open calls, and total there were over 650 girls that auditioned for Matilda’s Ensemble. The auditions took place at the Ripley Grier Studios in New York City. That is where most of the auditions take place for Broadway. My mom and I get there early and sign in at

That is the song when Bruce has to eat the big cake. It required chairs. To do this dance there was a lot of core strength involved, they also wanted a lot of acting. It was made up of a series of fidgets. After they taught us the first dance we did it in groups of 4. The whole time they were videotaping us. After they taught us this dance, we did the same thing we did before in groups of four. It was an hour and a half to two hour dance audition.
When the the whole thing was done I met my mom in the hall. We ran to the elevator and then to our cab. We had to go to the airport to catch our flight! Two weeks went by. They were full of waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Then one day in my social studies class I get a call to go down to the office. Everyone thought I’d forgotten my lunch box again, but I had it. I go to the office and see my mom. She says, “We are going back up!” It took me a second to realize I’d gotten a second

he issue of gender equality stirs up conversations every day from having a debate in school to dealing with it first hand in the work place. Many people don't believe that in 2017 there are any problems with equality and believe that both males and females get treated the same, truth is we don't. Lunch break only came too soon. It was a beautiful day outside, much like the days we’ve been having. In the sweltering midday heat, we had nothing to do. Helping someone else can actually make you really happy when with a simple thank you or a smile that person gives you; it makes you feel really great about yourself. One similar event happen to me once where I woke up on a Saturday morning to get ready to go to the store with my mom, and from there is where the event happens. On a beautiful sunny and fresh morning, my mom wakes me up at 8:30 A.M to get ready so I could go with her to the store. I then start my everyday routine from brushing my teeth, getting dressed, and then going into the kitchen to eat something. While I was eating and enjoying my meal, my mom says, “Son, can you please eat a little bit faster, we have to get going here and get what we need at the store,” I replied with, “alright Mom, just give me 5 minutes…

As a child, I have seemingly been over-achieving and a hard worker. I wanted to become independent at a young age, while all my friends wanted to play I stayed in the classroom working on assignments . When my siblings and I, were younger, my parents would tell us stories of how they struggled at a young age to find a stable job in the crop fields. They were in their teens when they started working long hours, from sunrise till the sunset, wearing long sleeves, sweaty handkerchiefs around their faces, dirty boots, and carrying a canteen of water. I soon caught on how hard-working and independent my parents were, which made me realize I should go find a job when I turn 16…

I finally made the courageous decision to tell my mother the secret I had been hiding for just over a year now. I had been contemplating if this was the right thing to do, but came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to be kept concealed in this closet of hatred I had myself living in. My life seemed empty with the knowledge that I wasn’t being myself and no one truly knew who I was. It was a late Sunday evening, when the sun was just escaping my view into the unknown horizon and the moon started to glisten within the stars. I felt trapped in my house, with only my mother to accompany me.…
