Hard Working Narrative

As a child, I have seemingly been over-achieving and a hard worker. I wanted to become independent at a young age, while all my friends wanted to play I stayed in the classroom working on assignments . When my siblings and I, were younger, my parents would tell us stories of how they struggled at a young age to find a stable job in the crop fields. They were in their teens when they started working long hours, from sunrise till the sunset, wearing long sleeves, sweaty handkerchiefs around their faces, dirty boots, and carrying a canteen of water. I soon caught on how hard-working and independent my parents were, which made me realize I should go find a job when I turn 16 so I could see for myself the struggles they went through at a young …show more content…
The day came as I urged to find a job at local stores. I filled out applications from various places, but months passed with no luck. I was frustrated. Finding a job was the only thing on my mind, I had to stay focused in school . As those months crawled by I received a call early before sunrise. I was awaken by a call from a regional manager for a local fast-food restaurant. He asked me if I was ready for my job interview later that day. For a second, I was not able to speak, I stayed absolutely silent. I couldn't believe, it after so many months of trying and filling out endless applications, I was going to get my first job interview. I was anxiously excited. Later that day I went to my job interview. I was too nervous at the moment my face was red and my hands were sweaty. The general manager asked me frequent questions, some of which I could not respond to because I had no previous job experience. I thought the interview went horrible, then he told me, "Welcome to the team". I was surprised since I thought everything went wrong, but he told me as long as I kept a smile I'll be more than welcome. He also mentioned I would start in two
