This Advertisement date in 2011 presenting Oscar Pistorius a gold medalist, he is knows to be the blade runner and has made history. Being a double amputee he made history last summer by competing in the olympic games for his country, becoming the first amputee sprinter to do so. I chose this advertisement because Nike has always been a major product that I used in my everyday life. I have always been interested in this product because of the things it does for my comfort and do the things I need to and get them accomplished. The johannesburg born athlete was born without fibulas in his legs and his limbs amputated below the knee by the age of 11 months old as the doctors decided it was for the best. Showing this athlete in their advertisement is presenting the idea towards bettering yourself as an athlete and person by improving your time, strength, and distance. Running has always been seen as a non-exciting task, while Nike has always been …show more content…
Saying things like;‘This is my weapon. How I conquer. How I wage my war. This is how I have broken the world record 49 times.’ and ‘How I became the fastest on no legs. This is my weapon. This is how I fight!’ Showing that he was capable of this crime due to the key words in his slogans to the public. Even though Pistorius is only seems to be running, the commercial has another athlete being the voice over about how athlete use their bodies as their own dangerous weapons. Nike has also been involved in representing certain athletes like Lance Armstrong, Kobe Bryant, Mike Vick, and Tiger Woods who have been involved in scandals just like this notorious athlete. It looks like this company has not been unexperienced in this situation because they have dealt with athletes who they have represented being charged with murder and is relatively uncharted territory for the

As we see right off the bat a runner on a track followed by a football player training we notice that these are all athletes and while they are training they are squirting Mio into their drink. Right off the bat it is pretty easy to tell that the intended audience is athletes. Also, Mio doesn’t stop at just two sports, they go on to cover 12 additional sports to make a point that no matter what kind of activity you are doing, Mio can preform with all of them. At the same time, this commercial is also showing how easy and portable Mio is, which is very beneficial and easily accessible for…

To promote their performance-enhancing product, Gatorade employed the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt. They’re advertisement follows their motto of “Win from Within,” which focuses on making consumable products for athletes to eat or drink to improve their athletic performance. In the advertisement, Bolt is in the starting blocks on a track, and is in position to run out of the blocks. This ad is clearly targeted to athletes and health-minded individuals to influence them to buy Gatorade’s product. Through this advertisement, Gatorade uses yellow and orange colors, puts Usain Bolt in color on a black and white background, and places him in the center of the picture to convince athletes that their Gatorade Prime will make them better in their activity.…

The Nike commercial successfully appealed to logos ethos and pathos, but most effectively appeals to pathos. The ad begins quietly, with just a bit of cricket noise, as the audiance sees the boy slowly jogging towards the camera. As he gets closer, it is obvious that he is no athlete that is being sponsored by Nike. He is used to make a connection to the audience who, if they are not like him themselves, almost certainly know someone who looks like him. This connection quickly establishes that Nike’s are meant for anyone.…

There is not any type of equipment that can actually make you that much better of a player. All in all, I find this a great advertisement by Nike, who typically does a great job of marketing their products. They give the consumer an appealing advertisement, which features a player millions of soccer fans and players idolize. People will understand that the cleats will not actually give you the “explosive speed” they are advertising so that should not turn away a…

J. Green, Carli Lloyd. With this monstrosity of a cast, Nike went all in on selling their new winter apparel. The advantages of having a cast like this of many different professions are that everyone that watches this advertisement is most likely appealed to one or more of the cast members. The advertisement starts off with Rob Gronkowski waking up from his bed in the morning to be surprised by the fact that it is snowing very hard. He then gets excited exclaiming that it is a snow day.…

This ad uses ethos to help promote the drink to athletes. Although the ad does not use a professional athlete, its use of Gatorade’s own product bottle for the ethos effect as its own endorsing figure is still strong and effective. The presentation and tone of the ad is in a competitive attitude and is perfect for the athletic audience they are trying to reach. With the angle on the picture on the ad the spacing is perfect and makes it look like a picture being taken of an Olympic runner crossing the finish line. The colors they decided to use for the ad also created a competitive atmosphere.…

These athletes are more than likely to share this ad on their social platforms which have millions of followers and active engagements by the second. Although celebrities are expensive to bring in for advertising purposes, in the long run, the price pays off for the outcome. It is important as a company to understand who their target market is, however they also need a plan of who they would like to bring in to their current target market. We believe Mountain Dew understands that their target market is on the younger spectrum of 18-25 year olds, however they do a fabulous job of mixing in cultural references from past years and fusing them with current events and or celebrities that their consistent consumers will relate to. The three ads chosen with a bit more development would surely resonate with the current target market as well as older potential…
