Imagine being questioned about killing you loved one for months and being asked if you did it purposely or if it was a mistake. Only you truly know if you meant to or if it was a mistake. But you are still had to take the blame. This is very similar to the Oscar Pistorious trial, they both are about killing a loved one and being questioned but it’s not just a loved one it was his girlfriend. The famous track star Oscar Pistorious was accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenckamp. Oscar heard a noise in the middle of the night and noticed that the bathroom window was open so he grabbed his pistol from under his bed and went to the door. It happened to be locked. Oscar thought it was an intruder, so he took 4 shots through the door. He ended up killing his girlfriend who was in the bathroom. The jury found him guilty for the murder of Reeva and he was sentenced to 5 years in prison. The jury mad the right decision in the Oscar PIstorious trial because he didn’t check on Reeva and he didn’t say he was going to investigate the noise.

He might have been able to see Reeva and he might have thought that she was trying to keep something a secret from him maybe an ex boyfriend texting her. But the main reason he was able to see into the bathroom and if he just waited maybe 3 minuets he could’ve seen Reeva or if it really was an intruder. He says that he went to the bathroom and sees that the bathroom window is open and sees that the toilet room door is closed (Loo). This shows that the jury made the right decision because Oscar had the chance to see who was really in the bathroom but he didn’t he just went on his own to the bathroom door and fired four shots at the bathroom door killing Reeva. Also many intruders wouldn’t just lock themselves in a room with one escape route because if Oscar called the police like he should have than the Intruder would have no escape

The court decision to acquit former NFL star O.J. Simpson of murder will forever be regarded as an example of how the we as Americans must trust the process of the legal system that we abide by. Guilt or innocence in the commission of a crime must be proved without a reasonable doubt, no matter the circumstances or evidence. Despite the extravagant evidence that implicated O.J. Simpson to the murder, the prosecution failed to establish in the minds of the jury that he committed the crime. The defense was able to shift the focus off the damaging evidence of the crime, and more towards the acquisition of that evidence, the ill-treatment of the crime scene, and the history of the Los Angeles Police Department in regards to treatment of minority groups. It can be said that the celebrity status of this case greatly influenced the verdict, as well as the circumstances that led up to that decision.…

The media have generated a witch hunt in respect to Oscar Pistorius. They have chosen to ignore what was established in a Court of law and ignore that the State prosecuted this case with such ferocity, demonstrating the State were only ever interested in a guilty to murder verdict. Evidence that would certainly have been ridiculed as far fetched in other cases was considered credible by the State and a psychological assessment demanded in the hope that this somehow would reveal the smoking gun the State so desperately needed and conclude Oscar had traits associated with perpetrators of domestic violence and a propensity for violent behaviour, in fact it revealed the…
