"One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do,"this quote by Henry Ford reconnects when it comes to facing something you're afraid of; our fears. When we get over fears, we realize only then that we had the courage before to do that something we were afraid of doing. One time I was afraid was when I started ice skating.

I was at a party for my younger sister's friend at an ice ring. Everyone at the party had all eaten and sung already. We were all ready to go on the ice. I had never been on ice before. I felt unconfident and was afraid of falling. Although I was unconfident, I had an urge to try because it looked fun. Trembling, I slowly got onto the ice holding the walls. It was different from walking,it was like slowing gliding along. I held onto the wall moving endlessly in circles; until my sister showed me how to skate. Back at that moment it felt like I would fall and break my bones. When I finally got off the wall I was surprised that I could skate. "One of the greatest discoveries a man makes;" to me it was the discovery that I could skate without trying it before. I was unconfident in myself and thought less of myself. But that day I discovered that i had an unknown confident within me. "One of his great surprises," When I got off and moving, I felt surprised at myself. Afterward, I realized that I wasted time just hanging onto the wall when I could have been skating."He can do what he was afraid he couldn't do," in the beginning I was afraid to skate cause of falling; but after skating for sometime I didn't fall once.
