Over the course of my senior year in high school, I was in a constant state of contemplation over which college to attend. As I conversed with friends who were dead set on a certain school, I couldn’t help but wonder what made it the “perfect” one for them. Despite the confusion and amount of time it took to reach a decision, the journey that has led me to this point has been worth it. Concordia University Irvine stood out in several components including academics, religion, and athletics. Although I am looking forward to this semester, I fear being able to balance academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. Nonetheless, I want to become a better individual throughout my time here and acquire necessary skills that will aid me in my future. When I came to visit this campus, everything seemed right. It was the right size—not too big not too small, but the university grounds were spread out. Furthermore, I could envision myself attending this school which was not something I had experienced when I visited other colleges. In the same way, the class sizes were smaller which meant personalized attention and one teacher would be able to develop a relationship with each student. Adding to that, I was intrigued by the way religion was incorporated into the curriculum; allowing professors to teach with this component.
