Although I do not have a specific age for this example, my parents have always driven me to be dedicated to whatever I set my heart to do. With this dedication comes accountability, responsibility and the urge to want to succeed at whatever it is. This has impacted my greatly up to this point. Because of the great example they've set for me, I know that in order to reach my dreams, I'm going to have to work for it. It's not going to be handed to me and the way I go about handling situations, I will either be rewarded or disappointed by the outcome, which has led to the …show more content…
It was the impact my kindergarten teacher had on me. As a 6 year old kindergartner, I was scared to death to leave the nest essentially "going out into the world." Everyone was taller, older, and more mature than I was walking into that school, but thanks to my kindergarten teacher, that didn't seem to be near as big of a factor. There are various challenges and environmental factors a child experiences throughout their developmental stages of life. Some individuals may have the privilege of being raised in an environment that has a mother and a father, a front and backyard, and even a room with a bed and dressers. As I reflect on my adolescence years of development, I find myself often asking questions as to why my siblings and I grew up in impoverished neighborhoods where gangs and violence was a pervasive occurrence. Why was it that at times I wanted to play outside the police would be on the streets with their guns drawn and sirens on? Why was it that when I came home from the bus stop, the neighbor's parents would have a water hose out in the front yard in a shape…

When I look at the future, I cherish the moments that have impacted my life throughout Wall Elementary because without these moments I would not be where I am today. I was nervous and excited to enjoy the many opportunities that school had to offer me.…

What defines a person? Life has many ups and downs, positives and negatives, and unfortunately my early life had a few more negatives as opposed to positives. The biggest negative in my life was being bullied at a young age and the struggle to overcome it. Being bullied showed me that I can prove everyone wrong and no one person or persons opinion can or should define me and my future no matter the pain it caused. The early years were rough with minor name calling, but the real heavy hitters came at about 4th grade and just escalated until the end of 6th grade.…

In 2014 it was recorded, at familystudies.org, that 45% of children in the U.S grew up in a single-parent household, and as many as 650, 000 children grow up with foster parents.
