Mrs. Able, while not the last teacher to inspire me, was the first. She embodies a true educator: one who cares deeply about every student. She even use to buy multiplication textbooks for me because I loved math, but my family could not afford it. I also hope to introduce new clubs like a volleyball team, leadership development program, or mock trial organization (students act, argue, and present a legal case). Specifically, I would love to teach the acting and debate skills I learned from mock trial, as well as design a positive social change and mentorship curriculum for the leadership program, to teach students how to design their own community service programs. Through these clubs, I hope students (and myself) will learn more about another culture, gain more confidence in their English skills, and have fun! Outside of the classroom, I hope to build trust with the community by attending religious services, learning some of language, and helping residents, whether tending gardens or planning festivities. After learning more about my host community, I would love to work with residents to implement new activities they desire—with potential financial support from organizations like the 1Malaysia Foundation. At minimum, I hope to work with my school to design school-community programs like family nights, talent competitions, potluck dinners, and charity
