My Reflecting
Reflecting back over the last five weeks learning about Human Resource Management has been very interesting. In being one of the minions most of my employed years and in a management position just a few years. I did not realize how much I had noticed what Human Resource Management have to do to run a successful organization. It takes a lot being part of the Human Resource Management team. One must know how to do a planning, recruitment and selection of what the jobs entail, what skills are needed and how the selection process will be like. The human resource management can make or break a company depending on how good the people are. Having a good mission goal and a code of conduct helps to know where the company wants to go and be in the future. Just like a person when the go to college and get a degree in a field that they want to work in. Thanks to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which is divided into several sections, Human resource management must make sure that no civil rights are violated. With an affirmative action policy in place, employers can show initiative in recruiting a various group of applicants for any job openings (Youssef, 2013). The only thing is no one knows what is going to happen the next day, next week or even next year. Policies can change, economy issues could come up and the need for the services offered could change. During one of my past employment, I had decided I wanted to make a career out of that job. I was looking into what training I could acquire to advance. I knew that they offered certain training that they would pay for me to learn while I was working for them. Even though there were events that affected the economy, everyone knew that people still needed to travel and so they needed a place to stay during their travels. From what I have learned, this is a way to motivating potential employees or to keep current employees satisfied in the work place. This is one area that companies work very hard and spend a lot of time, effort and money. Of course, everything must be above the board and follow all legal rules. When a company can recognize a potential employee, they will offer a package deal to them that would include benefits of medical and life insurance, vacation time, paid time off, and raises. This should encourage employees to stay within their own
