It all started when a dad and son duo decided that they wanted to make a difference in their son/brother’s life. They didn’t want him to be sitting in a room being taken care of. They want him to be able to work a real job and be able to make friends and love what he does. Statistics show that 90% of adults with Autism do not have a job. This could be because of them not knowing that they can obtain a real job. Or it could also be because of discrimination from employers that do not want to hire someone with Autism. But Rising Tide has turned the tables. Out of the forty-three employees that are employed at Rising Tide, thirty-five of them have some form of Autism. Rising Tide not only trains them to work the car wash, but they educate them in what it is like to a job and how to handle them. So that maybe they can go out work a job that they are inspired to do.
