Since then, the numbers have only increased. Over 78% of Americans with disabilities now have jobs, and many of those left unemployed are incapable of working (ADA, 2011). Since then several regulations have been passed to help accommodate people with disabilities. Many public accommodations that ensured Americans with disabilities have the same rights as everyone else were passed as well. Since the passing of the ADA many other great things have been accomplished. Some accomplishments include the disabled getting jobs, receiving the help needed, and finding accommodations that help them be included (Gold, 2011). The main thing was to stop or at least slow down the discrimination rate. The U.S. Department of Justice has helped to vastly increase the amount of accommodations for the disabled.
