Managing Change in the Workplace
Managing change in the workplace is a constant for all leaders. Managers are constantly having to redefine the way business is be operated the products and services that are being offered and how this will impact their customers and the community. Change is something each business must go through in order to stay up-to-date. This is often times a challenge for those that work within the business. New training, new procedures, new products, and paperwork the list is endless. Moving people out of their comfort zone is a challenge in itself. Habit’s people getting into habits at their place of employment knowing that some habit is hard to change. Fear of not being able to keep up, or perform the new duties, or changes that are being placed upon them. Current position may be subject to change, or statues within the company may change. They may even fear the change of location, or the fear of getting new management. Lack of support during the transition time. Poor timing, some may figure the time is off and would be better suited when business in slow, off season, etc. Lack of trust in their management team could has cause resistance in the workplace. According to "12 Reasons Why Employees Resist Change in The Workplace" (2011), Every organization has its own share of in-house politics. So, some employees resist change as a political strategy to “show or prove” that the change decision is wrong. They may also resist showing that the person leading the change is not up to the task. These employees are committed to seeing the change effort fail. (Office Politics:)

In Change Management" (n/a), “HR needs to be seen as much more than a supporting function and instead, must be viewed as integral to the organization’s change management strategy.” The human resources department can recruit, train and monitor the employee’s performances.
