The idea of diversity should be uniform through the organization as everyone has a different idea about diversity. Diversity should not be limited to race and gender but should include age, ethnicity, family status, language opinions, religion and working styles, sexual orientation, mental and physical capabilities.
Educate.
Education is key in achieving a successful diversity management. Managers must be educated by the potential benefits of diversity and the processes to help achieve it.
Demonstrate CEO support.
CEO’s and Senior executives must demonstrate and articulate the business case for diversity. Employees will take cues buy into it as a result.
