Music is an important part of everyday life. Almost every person hears music on a daily basis. Music surrounds us while we are in the car, the store, watching TV. In today’s world we can fit years of music in the palm of our hands through iPods and Iphones. It does not surprise me that music has a large influence on so many people’s lives. I feel music has had a large impact on my life in made different ways. Personally I listen to music daily. I use music as a way to pass time while I am riding the bus or driving in the car. I feel that it makes time go by faster and I am able to enjoy time that I would not describe as fun. I feel my taste in music changed over the years with what was happening in my life. My love for different genres has grown over the years as I have grown. Each period of my life had a different genre that in a way described what was happening at that time. I will listen to all genres, but I go through periods where I will listen to one genre a lot more then others. I feel that during this time I was sad, but I often tried to mask it when I was at school, and in front of my friends. I am not one to talk about how they are feelings so I felt this described my life. In a way this music brought my friends and me together. I feel this is rough age and many of my friends were also going through big changes. My good friends were dealing with their parents going through divorces, and another one of my friend’s parents lost their jobs. I feel this music brought us together because it gave us something to bond over. We found ourselves going to concerts, and spending a lot of time together. This shaped my identity during this time because I gained some of the greatest friends I could ever ask for. It gave me my personality in way, and gave me a bond with
