In the world that we live in today, gun violence has been a major problem for many years now as well as crime rates. The government needs to have some type of gun control laws to fix the problem in America on the gun violence. America needs some type of gun control to fix the problem without infringing on one’s rights, but also have a strong effect on gun violence in America. Gun violence is the same here as it is anywhere else in the world. Weather you live in urban or suburban areas, you will always be variable to gun violence. The are many ways gun violence can happen such as gang violence, accident or suicide it will always be around you. There are more than 100,000 people shot in a year in America. There are 30,000 proven fatal, and over half of them where caused by people below the age of thirty. Since the school shooting of Sandy Hook in Connecticut, there have been more than fifty more that have happened across America. According to The Boston Children’s Hospital, “States with more gun laws have fewer gun related deaths” (Alcindor 1). If this is the case, many more states should have a lot more gun laws to see if the crime rates do go down. The states that have the most gun laws and also do a background check on people before buying a gun also has a decreased number of violence and crimes with guns.
