Graduation Speech : College Hall Of Fame Essay
Welcome graduates, parents, friends, and other family members, faculty and staff of Northern New Mexico College including President Barcelo and Board members thank you for coming to celebrate this glorious day with us.
It brings me great honor to be standing here in front of all of you representing the class of 2015. First order of business I would like to welcome my fellow graduates to the 2015 College hall of fame, we did it! My name is Joshua Padilla , I was born and raised right here in Espanola New Mexico , attended Pojoaque Valley High School and a graduating Northern New Mexico Eagle.
Education has always played an important role in my life since I was a young as it probably did for a lot of you here today, once a student always a student.
Many of you graduates here today will thank your mother and father for helping you to succeed where you are at today and some of you might not, I would like to personally say that parents are a gift from God whether you have both or just one. In 2001, many years ago my father was granted sole custody of me and my brothers after a divorce with my biological mother. Even though I was young this was a devastating blow and sometimes discouraged me from doing my best in anything but I stood tall, held my ground and kept on striving for that light at the end of the tunnel, meaning my school diploma’s. My father was the not only the father in my life but also the mother figure.
