I see this time as like my downfall and the reason behind why I was doing this was because of the friends that I had back then. The friends I had weren’t the smartest around or the nicest ones at all so that influenced me throughout middle school. These friends were really rude and dumb, but I stuck with them because I didn’t have anyone else to hang around or be with since I was so shy. At times, they would lie, cheat, and criticize others to get what they wanted which is something that I let influenced me. I soon recognized what they were doing and ended up not being there friends by the end of eighth grade. The most important thing that I can remember from middle school was how I opened up in a new way. During middle school was when my dad got prostate cancer. It didn’t really affected me as much that I thought it would, but that was a different story with my family. They were all sad and crying saying that my dad wasn't going to get better anytime soon. This was different for me because I believed with all my heart that my dad was going to make it out alive. It was because my dad is a pretty strong man and I knew that he would pull this through. In the end my dad succeeded and triumphantly made it through and got rid of all the cancer that was in his body. Which made me happy to see that believing can be an amazing thing. Another thing that shaped me into who I was today was my sexual orientation. There was a girl named Jocelyn and we were friends for a couple of years, it wasn't until middle school where she asked me to be her boyfriend and I accepted it, but as the relationship went on I found myself to not be entirely happy with the relationship.
