This commercial, which was intended to sell a fast-food hamburger, shows overt misogyny and only perpetuates harmful gender-focused stereotypes. For a majority of the ad, a seemingly naked woman is walking through a market, accompanied by dialogue that doesn’t imply anything about selling hamburgers. You do not see the product which is being sold or even hear about it, until the very end of the advertisement. When you look beyond the shock value and sex appeal, the commercial does seem to use some viable advertising techniques, flattery being the most direct and easily seen.
