Media has always been a way to positivity and news but there are some things that has not have been perfect like showing men and women as poorly in commercial and ads. “Toxic Culture 101: Understanding the Sexualization of Women” by Shadia Duske where she talks about how males and females are sexualized in ads, which affects the younger generation when it comes to what they should be seeing at their age is good or bad. In “‘Two Ways a Woman Can Get Hurt’: Advertising and Violence” in her essay Jean Kilbourne describes how media is using sexualized ads of men and women to get attention of people so the companies can sell their products. There are many ads were women are used as point to grab attention either it's the commercial about food, cars, or technologies ladies are most of the time become a part of the advertisements just to prove that sex sells. But this type of publicity show are women are portrayed poorly in media rather than showing normal lady who is just describing product ad makers try to use women as object or sex symbol. Kiran says, “Women are generally depicted as ‘housewives’, ‘decorative equipment's’, or ‘sexual objects’ in TV commercials” (129). Womens are getting characterized in many ways. Today companies make various ads to sell their products in which sometimes they show nudity or describes men and women was stupid or intelligent. Sometimes people try to forget this but most of the time this affects badly to someone seeing a violence on women or children has been used as an example if sex. Most importantly this commercial are bad examples kids because they don’t have good understanding to decide between what is wrong and what is bad for them they will learn what they see on television. Kilbourne's states, “Sexual battery, as well as inappropriate sexual gestures, touching, and fondling, is increasing not only in high school but in elementary and middle schools as well” (571). Everyone have to understand that the open access of this bad commercials creates negative influences for kids if these ads are good then the kids might have not been behaving inappropriately. For kids if they see something on TV or commercially they think this is cool any try to follow that bad influence. Children's younger brain equips this type of bad behavior faster and if this didn’t get stopped right now then this will hurt them more when they grow up. Kilbourne express, “there are reports of sexual assault by students on other students as young as eight” (517). This is bad because sometimes children don’t know the difference between right and wrong they are just doing this
