Ethical Issues On Abortion Essay

Abortion is an emotional and controversial subject that raises political, ethical and social debates. This issue raises challenging ethical dilemma with regard to the fetus moral status and the moral nature of the act. It also evokes legal concerns on the rights of the fetus and human rights. Abortions evoke many ethical debates and is one of the leading issues in the United States. The debates on this subject have remained vibrant over the years with little change on long held perspectives, with the fetus’s moral status. One of the biggest questions within the abortion issue is in the developmental stage and when is the fetus recognized as a person. Most would say it is with the union of the spermatozoa and ovum. Unfortunately, this may not be the case quite yet, there is a process in which the ovum starts to subdivide and certain things have to take place before even the female realizes that she is or may be expecting. This is totally wrong, a woman is the owner of her own body thus has the right to say what happens to her body and a right to determine what needs to be done. There are way too many babies in this world that are unwanted and unloved, there are babies being born and thrown out like trash and this is what has to stop. Consensual sex does not mean that women are ready to have a baby; consent to sexual intercourse is not the same as consent to pregnancy.
