Abortion is one of the most disputed topics in the social and political areas today. The two sides for or against are for whether the unborn fetus is taken as a human yet or not. There may be disputes when the child is still a small egg, but does the morality change when it starts to count as a late abortion? That’s when we begin to question our true values. Because of life and death situations, late abortions should be an option for the birth mother. Abortion to those who are anti, consider it murder. But no one really knows when a human life actually begins. Pro-lifers believe that life begins at the moment of conception, while pro-choice supporters believe they are still just a mass of tissue. According to The Huffington Post, in the article, “This Is What It’s Really Like To Have A Late-Term Abortion” (Lindsey Averill). There was a case in South Florida where a woman, pregnant of twenty-one weeks, had to come to the heart breaking decision of getting a late abortion. Her choice was based upon multiple doctor reviews that had told her her baby would not be born healthy. For the twenty-one weeks that …show more content…
One is stuck with the option of life or death; whether it be of the mother or the child. There have been many cases where the life of the mother has been in danger during pregnancy due to either physical or health issues. Or in other cases where the child is at risk. Because the mother has health issues of her own, they could be hereditary and be passed down to the child who would not live the simplest life. Viewing the other side, pro-life seems to care about bringing a new life to the world. No matter how the child comes out, it will be loved. That is not necessarily true. Nearly 700,000 kids are abused annually in the U.S. according to National Statistics on Child Abuse. 4 out 5 of the abusers being the victims’ parents. It is very common that children who were a part of unwanted births are abused by their

Every unborn child should have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the second and third trimester. In 2010, research shows that states indicated that unborn children are considered humans under tort, property and criminal law (Roden, 2010). By these laws shown, a mother shouldn’t get to choose whether the fetus lives or dies. The unborn child is its own person and by a mother aborting her own child should be considered murder. Under law a child is supposed to be born for many different reasons, including being capable of having a legacy (Roden, 2010).…

The term “pro-life” means anti-abortion. To say that someone is “pro-life” is to say that the person has an obligation to respect and legal protection for every human life regardless of viability, intent, or quality of life concerns. The pro-life movement is basic and solid: “The preservation of life itself” Because life itself is prior. Their goals are to protect the right to life. However, the debate opposite, “pro-choice” believe that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own body.…

One of today’s most controversial topics, concerns whether a woman has the right to end late term pregnancies through abortion. Specifically, whether it is morally permissible for women to receive abortions in the third trimester. In this paper, we will discuss both sides of the argument for “pro” and “anti” groups on whether it is permissible to have a third trimester abortion. In today’s society, a rising debatable topic within America is that of the legalism of late-term abortion. Even though deciding to abort a fetus is seen to be the right of the mother under the Roe V. Wade case, choosing to end the life of a fetus when it is viable is murder. The unique genetic code that is given to a fetus is proof that life also begins at conception. The legalization of late-term abortion should be abolished in all fifty states due to evidence that show that it is legally and ethically wrong and also that abortion does not have to be an option. Fetal viability is determined when a fetus is able to live outside the womb.…

People that are pro-choice believe that abortion should be kept legal because women have the right to make the choice. Since at the time of abortion, the fetus isn’t technically a baby, the pro-life views seem unreasonable to pro-choice supporters. There is a reason that the abortions are only allowed to happen within the first 24 weeks; the ‘fetus’, which is still a clump of cells at that point, can’t survive on its own outside the…

Those who are pro-life believe the fetus is an innocent person, it is wrong to murder an innocent person therefore, abortion is unethical. According to Gary Willis, those who are pro-choice believe life begins only after the semen fertilizes the egg and produces an embryo. However, two-thirds of the embryos produced this way fail to live on because they do not embed in the womb wall. Fertilization produces more embryos that are actually used, therefore all of embryos that fail to be embedded do not classify as human persons. On the other hand those who are pro-life are aware that a fetus is human life, but so are semen and the ovum before it is fertilized.…
