The public workforce has a duty to provide services to the public with no consideration of the publics’ demographic. However, it does make sense to ensure that all members of the jurisdiction are aware of public workforce positions, in order to apply for them. A diverse workforce may not be expected to meet job standards, missing skill sets or education standards, which in the long term could cause the agency to suffer by not reaching its goals.
