Donald Trump, along with other politicians, spew lies about how too many illegal immigrants are bringing crime into the country, saying how they are rapists and drug dealers. However, this is not true. According to The Washington Post, it said, “An analysis of 2010 Census data in a report from the American Immigration Council, a pro-immigration group, shows that 1.6 percent of immigrant males 18 to 39 years old were incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of native-born males.” (3) This shows that illegal immigrants are not bringing the large amount of crime politicians say. In fact, according to the census, they commit less crimes than citizens. This is probably due to their fear of being deported, so being to stay in the country is an incentive for them to not break the …show more content…

The United States takes pride on the ideology of supporting freedom, even naming itself “the land of the free” despite the many issues “minorities” have faced throughout its entire history. Nevertheless, many Americans believed that the United States has shown progress and has become more open, providing more opportunities for people of color, women, the LGBT community and so forth. However, with the election of Donald Trump as president, many of the Ideologies of America's past has unveiled itself in full view. Another set of deciding factors are deeply engrained ideologies such as political orientation, belief that there are too many immigrants in an individual’s area, and personal levels of nationalism. This category is perhaps the greatest indicator of negative attitudes toward immigrants and opinions about high immigrant criminality. In recent years, political leanings have come to be one of the most accurate indicators of beliefs on immigrant criminality, with those who lean Liberal believing less in immigrant criminality, and those leaning towards the Right holding the opposite (Krogstad 2015). Similarly, perception of how many immigrants live in an individual’s neighborhood is a strong indicator of intense beliefs regarding immigrant criminality.…

Trump, billionaire and businessman, has announced his bid for the Oval Office in June 2015. His campaign thus far has been called many things–needed, wanted, racist, fascist, and all-around interesting–but what it cannot be called is unprecedented. Final result: worker gets much lower pay (essentially payroll withholding) which results more taxes being paid into the U.S. and State treasuries (due to higher profits for the illegal employers). Many illegal employers know their Mexican laborers are illegal, but nonetheless withhold payroll taxes from their paychecks, and rather than pay those taxes to the government, simply pocket them. Quite often the employer will not realize that the Mexican is illegal, and so will go ahead and withhold payroll taxes and pay them to the government.…

Domestic tranquility in the United States is outlined by the Constitution and can be better understood as the way in which society lives in harmony (Wilson). Unfortunately, society has not reached a state of tranquility yet. This can be traced to ideas of racism, sexism, and other means of discrimination in the United States. Although some strides have been made to try and counteract these modes of discrimination, society has recently taken a step back in its development towards a tranquil state. Specifically, the rhetoric used by Donald Trump has been linked to ideas of racism and sexism.…

With millions of illegal immigrants already living in the United States and at least half a million who have access into the country, it is no doubt that immigrants have an extensive effect on our country. Illegal immigration can be defined as the process in which people violate the U.S. immigration laws by entering the United States without the government’s permission (i.e., a visa) or once lawfully entering the country, they remain within the country beyond the termination date of their temporary visa. After an immigrant is caught they are most likely put into holding then deported back to their country. An alternative to this current policy would simply be to let these illegal immigrants remain in the U.S. (under certain circumstances).…

Some reports criticize immigrants for committing too much crime, but has no specific evidence from both native born and immigrants. A nation information organization called Family security matters in 2007 specified that 1,288,619 were only the number of committed crimes by immigrants, and the rest of the criminals who has not been caught are still active. People may assume 1,288,619 is an immense number, however FBI data reported there were 14,209,365 arrests occurred nationwide in just the year of 2007. If immigrants in total committed about 1,288,619 crimes out of 14,209,365 people that were arrested in 2007, it is obviously a way smaller ratio compared to the native born. Furthermore, there are few more statistics and announces that arises concerns about the misconception of immigration and crime.…
