Online Recruiting Practices
Would you be more or less attracted to an organization that used online recruiting only? I would be less attracted to an organization that only used online recruiting practices mainly because they are impersonal; the employer is unable to see or hear the applicant leaving the resume as to only deciding factor for selection. An organization that utilizes a verity of recruiting practices designed specifically for an opening would attract a smaller batch of applicants with a greater outcome in less time. According to a study of the growing diversity of the U.S. workforce the age group 55 and older is the fastest-growing labor force, but workers age 25-34 will decline by over 3 million by 2016 (University, 2017).

The online application is a much faster process than traditional methods and relatively inexpensive. The need for paper applications and associated maintenance, such as keeping application current, proper storage and reproduction cost is saved. The online application is appealing to Millennials and those who are tech savvy; millennials are able to relate to an environment they are accustomed

I would be attracted to an organization that required a video resume only if it was a part of the overall hiring process and the video followed a standardized format. I can see organizations that are hiring positions in career fields such as broadcasting, spokesmen’s and possibly areas of customer service would be good candidates for the use of video resume. With the increased use of Artificial Intelligence (A.I) and the new technology going into High Definition (HD) where everything is viewed under a magnifying class; video resumes will be great.
With the use of video resumes, employers will have the opportunity to “Judge a book by its cover” and make key decisions based on the overall video resume. Also, they will be able to save time and money in the process. One important issue I believe for businesses that utilize video resumes will face is discrimination charges at a different level. I believe organizations would have to be even more transparent in the hiring process because the hiring process is removed from within the confinement of the company to the vast world wide web. They will need to be proactive is able not to show any bias of they must ensure the decisions are just and without bias, one could easily see the need to use videos as tools to evaluate potential hires for in high visual
